Questions about historical tests

What do we need to send for a test?
A catalog export from your ERP, then a few RFQs your team has already quoted, each with the quote you sent back. The RFQ can be pasted text or files — emails, spreadsheets, PDFs and photos. The quote can be a CSV or Excel file, or pasted lines of item number, quantity and description.
Does Goodshed see our quote while it drafts?
No. Goodshed reads only the RFQ, exactly as it would a live request. Your team’s quote is the answer key, and it is used only to compare against the draft afterwards.
Will a test show up in our Quote Desk or reach our systems?
No. A test runs through the same engine as live work, on a request flagged as a test. It stays out of the Quote Desk, the Overview, Search and Customers, and webhooks are never sent for it.
How is the score worked out?
On item numbers. Both sides are normalised first — case, spaces and punctuation are ignored — then Goodshed counts what share of your team’s items it drafted with the same item number (found), how many of the lines it chose an item for were also in your quote (precision), and lists what it missed, what it added, what it found but flagged for review, and where quantities differ.
Our quote export has several number columns. Which one is used?
The item-number column is found from the headers — Item #, SKU, Catalog #, Part #, Code and the like — with your own item number preferred over a manufacturer’s part number, because Goodshed drafts with the item numbers in your catalog. A running line number is never taken for the item.
Does the score change?
It is worked out afresh every time you open the test, from the draft as it stands. Nothing is stored as a fixed grade.
What does a test not tell us?
It shows how Goodshed’s drafts compare with your team’s quotes on the requests you chose. It is not a promise about every future request — which is why a pilot on live requests comes next, with your team reviewing every draft.
Can we delete a test?
Yes. Deleting a test removes it and its draft. You can delete tests yourself at any time.
